The German Association for Systemic Therapy, Counseling and Family Therapy (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Systemische Therapie, Beratung und Familientherapie; DGSF) is a society of professionals comprising several professions. In this association people and institutions teamed up aiming at furthering family therapy and family counseling as well as systemic thinking and working. This association came into being when the DAF (Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Familientherapie) and the DFS (Dachverband für Familientherapie und systemisches Arbeiten) joined during the autumn of the year 2000.

The members of the DGSF are psychologists, social workers, social educationalists, medical doctors as well as members of other psychosocial professions e.g. teachers. The members have special qualifications for systemic work. Furthermore institutions belong to the association that are bound to systemic thinking - among them several institutions offering training in systemic thinking and work.

At the moment the DGSF has approximately 9.000 members, about 200 of these are institutional members. Most of the members have been recognised as "family therapists"; in addition there are recognitions as "systemic counselor", "systemic supervisor" and as "teaching therapists".
